JEE Main 2025 – NTA has released JEE Main 2025 exam notification for session 1 and session 2 exam on its official website – jeemain.nta.ac.in. JEE Main 2025 session 1 exam will be conducted from January 22 to January 31, 2024 and JEE Main session 2 exam will be conducted from April 1 to 8, 2025.

Registration for JEE Main session 1 has already ended on November 22nd, 2024. NTA will release the JEE Main admit card for session 1 on January 20, 2025 while the JEE intimation slip 2025 will be released in 2nd week of January 2025.

What is JEE Main 2025?

The JEE Main is an entrance exam for students aspiring to pursue undergraduate engineering programs like B.Tech, B.E., and B.Arch/B.Plan. It is conducted twice a year, offering flexibility and better opportunities for students to secure higher scores. The JEE Main 2025 exam consists of two papers –

  1. JEE Main Paper 1 is conducted for admission in BE/BTech courses. Paper 1 includes questions from class 11 and 12 physics, mathematics and chemistry.
  2. JEE Main Paper 2 is for admission in BArch and BPlan courses. it is divided into two papers – Paper 2A for BArch and Paper 2B for BPlan. Paper 2A includes Mathematics, Aptitude Test, and Drawing while Paper 2B consists of Mathematics, Aptitude Test, and Planning-based questions.

JEE Main 2025 Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification

  • Candidates must have passed or be appearing in their Class 12 examination in 2023, 2024, or 2025.
  • Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics are mandatory subjects.

Qualifying Marks

  • A minimum of 75% aggregate marks in Class 12 (65% for SC/ST) is required for NITs, IIITs, and CFTIs admissions.

Age Limit

  • There is no age limit for JEE Main. However, candidates must meet the age requirements of participating institutions.

Number of Attempts

  • Candidates can attempt JEE Main six times over a maximum of three consecutive years.

JEE Main Exam Pattern 2025

Paper 1 Exam Pattern: B.E./B.Tech

  • Mode: Online (Computer-Based Test)
  • Subjects: Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics
  • Total Questions: 90 (30 per subject, including 20 MCQs and 10 numerical; 5 numerical to be attempted)
  • Total Marks: 300
  • Duration: 3 hours
  • Marking Scheme: +4 for correct answers, -1 for wrong MCQs, and no negative marking for numerical answers.

Paper 2A Exam Pattern: B.Arch

  • Mode: Online, except the Drawing section (offline).
  • Subjects: Mathematics, Aptitude, Drawing
  • Total Marks: 400
  • Duration: 3 hours.

4. JEE Main 2025 Admit Card

NTA will release the JEE Main admit card 2025 for session 1 around 2-3 days before exam starts as per past year trends. Admit card for JEE Main 2025 session 1 will be provided on NTA JEE Main official website, jeemain.nta.ac.in. The JEE Main 2025 admit card is a mandatory document to enter in exam center. the JEE Main hall ticket contains essential details like:

  • Candidate’s name, roll number, and photograph
  • Exam date, time, and center address
  • Instructions for the examination
